Whoever killed a human being, except as a punishment for murder or other wicked crimes, should be looked upon as though he killed all mankind; and that whoever saved a human life should be regarded as though he has saved all mankind. (5:32)
No words of denouncement and condemnation of the perpetrators of the horrific terrorist attacks in Iraq & Pakistan as devout Muslims and lovers of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) commemorated the Arba’een (40th day) of Imam Husain’s (A) martyrdom. These deliberate attacks, chillingly executed, have the sole aim of killing and maiming innocent human beings. These tragedies of our times can be felt in the hearts of all upstanding human beings. In this time of anguish, good people of all faiths must come together to not only condemn but also do all they can to assist the survivors of these tragedies, and also the families of those innocent men and women who lost their lives in the course of commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Husain (an epic event and a symbol of the struggle against injustice and tyranny among Muslims and many non-Muslims all over the world). We urge the Muslim community to stand united against the radical elements and those who wish to sow seeds of conflict and sectarianism within the Muslim community. It is our hope and prayers that those who have committed these evil acts be captured and given swift justice for the heinous crimes committed against the innocent victims.
We pray to Allah SWT to rest all the deceased souls in peace and grant them the loftiest place in the hereafter. We also pray to Allah SWT to give strength to the family members and survivors of these tragedies to bear the suffering and the loss in these difficult times.
