Every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, eager kids and rushed parents meet at the Sunday school. The school student body comprises of over 70 children of ages 5 to 18 from a diverse background. Several teachers and volunteers help out in the running of the school. In addition to being taught to recite Salaat and Qur'an, children are instructed in Qur'anic Study, Islamic History, Akhlaq and Fiqh (Jurisprudence). A key aspect of the school is to provide a social environment that enables school children to interact with their Muslim peers and build a support system of their own. In addition to Islamic studies as outlined above, children are encouraged to participate in a variety of recreational and volunteering activities. Examples of these activities include inner tubing at the Snoqualmie slopes, food drive during Eid, end of school year camp/picnics, etc. The school was started by teachers and parents who are members of the Ithna-asheri Muslim Associaton of the Northwest (IMAN). The school runs as an entity of IMAN. The school has been housed at different locations in the past. With the recent remodeling of IMAN Center in Kirkland, the Sunday school will now be housed in the lower floor of IMAN Center which has been designated to meet the educational needs of the community. Application forms and other documents are available under the Documents menu.
