As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum!
Based on several reports of crescent moon sightings in New Mexico and California by the naked eye at sunset on Thursday April 20th, 2023, Friday April 21st, 2023, will be the first day of the month of Shawwal, 1444 A.H.
We ask Allah, the Most High, for success in performing good deeds and hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (AJTF).
All of us at IMAN wishes everyone a joyful and safe Eid. Please stay safe and remember each other in your duas and especially all those who are going through difficult times due to natural calamities, unjust dispossession and/or violent conflicts around the world.

If anyone planning to attend the Eid prayer and/or anyone in their household is experiencing symptoms of not being well (headaches, fever, cough, runny nose, body ache, sore throat, etc) then kindly get tested and join the prayer with intention of furada from home by clicking on the link IMAN Live.
When you do attend the gathering at IMAN, please exercise abundance of caution, refrain from close contact (hugging, shaking hands etc)

Muslims around the world share the joy of Eid by sharing with those around them who are less fortunate by contributing Zakat ul Fitr.
Zakat ul Fitr is an obligation that is due on the night of Eid and needs to be paid before Salaat ul Eid.
Zakat ul Fitr $ amount per head depends on the staple diet of the person contributing and is equivalent to approximately 3 kilograms of the staple diet.
For 1444 AH Zakat ul Fitr, IMAN recommends $10.00 per head in the household.
The household size is determined as the number of people in that household on the night of Eid.
IMAN will be collecting Zakat ul for distribution to those in need by working in collaboration with other Islamic Centers in the Greater Seattle area with whom there is social services working relationship.
You can remit your Zakat ul Fitr contribution to IMAN in a variety of ways.

Sunday School
The Annual Iman Quran conference was hosted during Sunday school hours on April 16th, 2023. We appreciate all the students who participated in the conference. Thank you to all parents, teachers, volunteers, judges who made the event successful. A special thanks goes to Sr. Mahdie Seyed, Sr. Zina Alnoor and Br. Rizwan Rizvi for all the time and effort they spent in organizing the event.
The Sunday School will have Parent/Teacher conferences coming up April 30th – May 7th.
There will be a Parent/Admin Meeting on May 7th , 2023. We encourage all the parents to participate in this meeting.
The school Sub-Committee helped in organizing activities in the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr and we thank everyone who helped in organizing and running the activities.
Teacher appreciation week is May 7th thru 13th is the in US. We thank our teachers and all members of the School sub-committee for all that they do.
The Sunday School is looking for teachers and volunteers for the 2023-2024 school year. Please contact the Sunday School Sub-committee if you are interested.
