Knowledge That Does Not Transform - From Knowledge to Community - 2026-09-18
This week's khutbah, "Knowledge That Does Not Transform" and "From Knowledge to Community" (September 18, 2026), explored the gap between what we know and how we live.
Drawing on the words of Imām ʿAlī (ʿa) and Imām al-Ṣādiq (ʿa), the first khutbah asked why knowledge so often fails to change us — when it isn't matched by action, humility, or baṣīrah (insight) — and invited each of us to reflect on what we already know but haven't yet put into practice.
The second khutbah carried that question into our life together as a community, offering six concrete commitments: breaking our "islands of familiarity," deepening our connection to prayer and the Qur'an, investing in our youth, carrying Islam's character beyond our walls, and giving even one hour a month in service.
