Crescent Moon for the Month of Jumādá al-ākhirah 1442 AH


There were no verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, in any region of North America.


Therefore, Thursday, January 14th, 2021, was the last day of Jumādá al-ūlá, 1442, A.H., and Friday, January 15th, 2021 will be the first day of the month of Jumādá al-ākhirah, 1442 A.H.


We ask God, the Most High, for success in performing good deeds and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (p).

Daily and Friday congregational prayers remain suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Weekly Thursday programs and all commemorations and celebrations take place online.

Wiladats and wafats are observed on the Thursday closest to the actual date and conducted online in a virtual setting. Please refer to http://iman-wa.org for detail schedule of the Thursday program.


Sunday School

Sunday School is now in its 14th week this academic year. Parent meeting will be scheduled towards the end of January 2021. Stay tuned.


Social Services

IMAN Center in collaboration with St John’s Episcopal Church held a food drive that culminated on January 2nd. Food was collected at St. John’s and the IMAN community donated generously. About two SUVs full of non-perishable and canned food items were collected. All food donations were sorted and then handed to the Renewal Foodbank in Bellevue. Thank you to everyone that donated generously towards this food drive.


Sr. Sidra Naqvi continues to coordinate meals every other Sunday to the Seattle Tent City (see photos below). Over the past five months 1250 complete meals which included main/sides/desserts and drinks have been delivered to the Seattle Tent City and also The Sophia Way and Helen’s Place - The Sophia Way. Tremendous gratitude to Sr. Sidra and all those who have supported her for this wonderful service to the community.
