Growing Spirit of Congregational Prayer at IMAN 🌙
Alhamdulillah, we’ve seen a noticeable increase in participation for daily congregational prayers at IMAN in recent weeks. In the attendance reports table below, you’ll see green highlights indicating days when five or more individuals joined—no yellow or red highlights in sight!
The summer months offer an ideal opportunity to build a consistent prayer habit at IMAN, especially with students out of school and the serene beauty of Kirkland's sunsets on display. We warmly invite you to take a peaceful stroll along the scenic shore of Lake Washington, followed by joining us for Maghrib prayers, during which we also reflect briefly on a few verses from the Qur’an.
We’ve also heard from community members that some elderly individuals in and around Kirkland are eager to attend prayers but are unable to do so due to lack of transportation. If you’re able and willing to help with occasional rides, please email us at programs@iman-wa.org—your support can make a meaningful difference.
Just like people find joy and motivation in jogging or exercising with a friend, we can also uplift one another by encouraging attendance for congregational prayer. A gentle reminder or invitation might be all it takes to inspire someone to join.
✨ Spiritual Encouragement:
✅ Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: “The one who performs prayer in congregation is better than the one who prays alone by twenty-five degrees.” Wasa’il al-Shi‘ah by Al-Ḥurr al-‘Āmilī, Vol. 5, Kitāb al-Ṣalāh, Chapter: The Superiority of Congregational Prayer Over Individual Prayer
✅ Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) said: “Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or evening, Allah prepares for him a place of hospitality in Paradise every time he goes.” Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Adhan (10), Hadith 662 Sahih Muslim, Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer, Hadith 669

Investing in Service, Investing in Our Future
The IMAN community has long recognized the need for a dedicated caretaker. Alhamdulillah, we have now a promising candidate who could take on this important role—one that is currently being fulfilled on a best-effort, voluntary basis by a few generous members of our congregation.
This is a unique opportunity to enhance the sustainability and quality of services offered at IMAN. As we explore the possibility of creating a paid position for this much-needed role, we appeal to the generosity of the IMAN community to help us grow and strengthen our efforts.
We kindly ask everyone to consider making a firm financial commitment, which will enable us to support this individual in serving the community through a role that is both impactful and deeply needed.
Please speak with any member of the Executive Committee to learn more and to make your pledge.
Thank you for your continued support and generous consideration.

Your support can make a lasting difference—thank you for considering this important opportunity to serve.
Sunday School in South King County/Pierce County
Several families in South King County and Pierce County have expressed a need for a Sunday School that is closer to their homes. To assess this interest, we are conducting a survey to explore the possibility of establishing an English-only Islamic Sunday School for children aged 5 and above in the south.
Your responses will help organizers determine the number of potential students, the number of classes required, and the size and location of the facility that would best serve the community.
Providing your address and contact information is optional, but doing so would greatly assist in identifying the most suitable location for the school, should it move forward.
Please complete the survey at the link below to help us better understand the community’s needs and the scale of effort required.
Thank you for your support and input!
