Crescent Moon for the Month of Jumādá al-ākhirah 1443 AH

There were verified sightings of the crescent moon on the evening of Monday January 3rd, 2022, in Florida, USA and Ottawa, Canada.


Therefore, Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, is the first day of Jumada al-Akhira 1443 AH.


We ask God, the Most High, for success in performing good deeds and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (p).

Daily Dhur and Maghreb and Friday congregational prayers are being held in person at the IMAN Center. Congregational Prayer Timings are published on the IMAN home page.


Weekly Dua Kumail program also takes place in person at the IMAN Center at 8:00 PM each Thursday.


Wiladats and wafats are observed on the Thursday closest to the actual date.

IMAN Annual General Meeting ("AGM")

IMAN Annual General Meeting originally scheduled for December 4th, 2021, had to be postponed due to unexpected necessary travel by three of the five Executive Committee members. The meeting is now scheduled for after Maghreb prayer on Saturday 15th January 2022.


All IMAN Members are requested to attend and help us continue our efforts to build a spiritually vibrant, caring and sharing community in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Agenda:

  • Review and Approval of 2020 AGM minutes

  • Matters arising from 2020 AGM minutes

  • Review of 2021 Annual Report of Activities, and recommendations for 2022

  • Review of 2020/2021 Finances, and budget for 2022

  • Nomination of the Executive Committee for 2022

  • Any other business

IMAN Members are requested to send in their nominations for people to serve on the Executive Committee by 12/01/2021 for the positions of:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Secretary

  • Joint Secretary

  • Treasurer

Nominations to serve on the Executive Committee will be finalized at the IMAN AGM. Actual appointment to service on the Executive Committee will be made by the IMAN Board of Directors after the AGM.

Criteria for being on the Executive committee:

  • Member in good standing

  • Member for at least 1 year

  • Resident of the greater Seattle Area

  • Should have served in one of the sub-committees for a year

All members are requested to be up to date on their membership dues or seek a waiver if their financial circumstances so require.


Sunday School

Classes will continue online given the current pandemic status.


Weather permitting annual bake sale is scheduled for Saturday, January 29th, 2022.


Second Parent meeting for the school year is scheduled Sunday January 2021.


Social Services

IMAN Center in collaboration with St John’s Episcopal Church held a food drive that culminated on January 2nd. Food was collected at St. John’s and the IMAN community donated generously. About two SUVs full of non-perishable and canned food items were collected. All food donations were sorted and then handed to the Renewal Foodbank in Bellevue. Thank you to everyone that donated generously towards this food drive.
