Crescent Moon Rabīʿ al-Akhir 1442 AH


Monday, November 16th, 2020 was the last day of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, 1442 A.H.


Tuesday, November 17th, 2020 coincided with the first day of the month of Rabi' al-Akhir, 1442 A.H.


This determination is based on the fact that there were no verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Sunday, November 15th, 2020, in any region of North America.

8 Nov 24 Wiladat of Imam Hasan al-Askari (p), 232 AH


Daily and Friday congregational prayers remain suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic.


Weekly Thursday programs and all commemorations and celebrations take place online.


Wiladats and wafats are observed on the Thursday closest to the actual date and conducted online in a virtual setting. Please refer to http://iman-wa.org for detail schedule of the Thursday program.


Sunday School 2020/2021

IMAN Sunday School is in its ninth week and progressing well with good student attendance and participation.


Tarbiyah Books for Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been distributed.


Three teachers completed training on Tarbiyah Curriculum and Teacher Skills Program (TSP) in August, September and October 2020

First Parent Meeting (1st) was conducted online on November 8, 2020 with 28 people participating.


Supporting those in need

Carmen Smith, Associative Executive Director of the White Center Food Bank conveys gratitude for generous donations that enabled a $4,000.00 donation towards purchase of halal turkeys that will be distributed to needy families in White Center, West Seattle and Burien for thanksgiving. Many have lost jobs, cannot afford childcare, and/or encounter empty shelves at the grocery stores on a recurring basis. There has been a 30% increase in the number of people being served by the food bank.
