As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum! Peace be upon you!
Crescent Moon for the Month of Rajab 1447 AH
There were multiple verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, across the USA. Monday December 22nd, 2025, will be the first day of the month of Rajab, 1447 A.H.
The month of Rajab is a symbol of the love of God for His creatures, where He invites and encourages them to seek forgiveness, fast, and worship more intensely. In this lies their success through His pleasure.
Imam Zaynul ‘Ābidīn (a) says:
So they remember You for Your kindness
they thank You for Your Blessings
they pray to You by Your command
and they donate for You in order to seek Your increase
In all this lies their deliverance from Your wrath
and their triumph through Your good pleasure
(Al-Sahīfa al-Sajjādiyyah, Du ‘ā 45, Passage 16)
When My servants question you about Me, tell them that I am near.
I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls to Me; therefore, let them answer My call and put their trust in Me, that they may be rightly guided.
Qur'an 2:186
We ask God, the Most High, for success in performing good deeds and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (p).

DAILY CONGREGATIONAL SALAAT
As we move through the blessed month of Rajab, a time for spiritual re-awakening and preparation of the heart, we invite our community to reconnect through regular congregational prayer.
Even amid busy schedules and winter evenings, making the effort to attend ʿIshāʾ in congregation - even once a week if not every day - can be a powerful step toward renewing our bond with Allah ﷻ and with our fellow worshippers.
Alongside this, establishing and safeguarding Jumuʿah prayer as a fixed and non-negotiable anchor of the week is essential to the spiritual health of our center, as Allah ﷻ reminds us:
“Believers! When the call to prayer is made on the day of congregation, hurry towards the reminder of God and leave off your trading––that is better for you, if only you knew––”
(Al-Jumu`ah 62:9).
The Prophet ﷺ also taught that prayer in congregation carries far greater reward than prayer alone.
Rajab offers a perfect opportunity to begin or strengthen these habits - where even a single weekly commitment can grow into a lasting rhythm, filling our hearts with tranquility, strengthening our unity, and bringing barakah as we prepare for the months ahead.

ENGAGEMENT AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION
IMAN members have the chance to build a spiritually engaged, supportive community in the Pacific Northwest, inspired by Prophet Muhammad and his family (peace be upon them).
Achieving this vision requires broader participation beyond current levels.
Like early Islamic communities in Medina and Mecca, success begins with regular prayer for spiritual growth and working together toward shared goals for families and neighborhoods.
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow. [Al-Baqarah 2:43]
The USA is changing due to many factors. We are lucky to live in a community that values diversity and inclusion and encourages us to help shape our shared future here.
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided. [An-Naĥl 16:125]
Our educated and informed community is equipped to contribute meaningfully to our families and society, including both Muslim and non-Muslim communities.
Let's unite and fulfill our potential, recognizing our responsibilities.
Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. [At-Takāthur 102:8]
Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are righteous. [Al-Baqarah 2:177]
We need more people to join and volunteer for our programs for both adults and young people.
