Based on verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Friday, February 12th, 2021 in Ottawa, Canada and Orlando, Florida, Saturday, February 13th, 2021 was the first day of the month of Rajab, 1442 A.H..
We ask God, the Most High, for success in performing good deeds and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (p).

COVID-19 Vaccines
With the number of people eligible for the coronavirus vaccine growing, many in our community are eager to know if and when they can receive the vaccine.
Br. Abid Zaidi and Br. Meenaz Merchant are coordinating with scheduling team at Albertsons/Safeway Corporation to make the COVID-19 vaccine available to all in our community and neighborhood and faith network who have registered.
Albertson/Safeway Corp does not keep a readily available supply of this vaccination at their warehouse. They rely on the Federal Government for vaccinations which arrive in batches. Each batch is 100% administered to eligible individuals leaving zero inventory at Safeway facilities. Due to short supply the Safeway Corporation does not have spare vaccination in their warehouses.
Once the Federal Government informs the Safeway Corporation vaccination delivery date only then they will start scheduling individuals for COVID-19 vaccination shot
It usually takes a few days to get schedule email. But it can take longer if there are delays at the Federal Government.
Our volunteers are in touch with the Safeway Corporation and will provide an update as soon as the hear back. It is very possible for those who have registered to hear directly from the pharmacy before they hear from our volunteers as the pharmacy will be sending e-mail directly.
Our volunteers fully understand the situation and be rest assured they are trying their
best to get this scheduled at the earliest possible time.
Sunday School
Sunday school is in its 18th week for the year 2020/2021 with all classes being conducted online.
School Committee met online with all the Sunday School Teachers on January 16t, 20201 to share experiences , understand and address concerns. This was followed by a online meeting Parent/Teacher meeting on January 31, 2021 attended by 23 parents a write-up of which has been e-mailed to all parents.
A number of activities to improve the quality of our Sunday School instruction were undertaken last month. Sunday School Teachers were invited to participate in the Tarbiyah Digital Platform Tutorial conducted by the Madrasah Center of Excellence which was attended by only a few of our teachers. These sessions are incredibly beneficial and all Teachers are highly encouraged to take advantage as part of their continued development. School Committee members and a few teachers participated in NASIMCO CIL Teacher's Conference on February 7th, 2021 which was attended by 250+ participants from North America, Europe and Asia.
Teacher/Parent Conference is planned for March 7, 2021 where an update on the initiatives will be provided to all.
Ramadhan Qur'an Conference planning is underway and we are looking volunteers to help organize.
Sunday School Students will celebrate the wiladat of Imam Ali (a.s.) with Art Competition scheduled for February 28th, 2021. Students can submit a 30 second video to describe and show their work of art. See details below:
Social Services
Sr. Sidra Naqvi continues to coordinate meals every other Sunday to the Seattle Tent City. Several spots have been reserved to provide future meals at shelters. If you are interested in helping, please contact Sister Sidra Naqvi (425) 273 1463 or e-mail iman@iman-wa.org.
